About Tessie

I began making cards to raise money for Tia Greyhound Rescue. They started off as very simple, but original, designs and quickly became popular. That was back in 2000, now my cards have developed and we now offer a range for all events. Every Tessie card is that little bit different, and definitely unique. I still donate a percentage of my profits to Tia Greyhound Rescue, and my products are stocked in their charity shop in Meltham, Huddersfield.

As an owner of sighthounds myself, it's hard not to spoil such beautiful creatures. In 2001, I began making collar tassels and they were an instant success. Like the cards, every one is original and is a gorgeous addition to the collar of any dog. Also available on Tessie is a range of artwork, from a child I have had a passion for drawing dogs and I'm proud to offer a range of encaustic art, prints, sketches and paintings.

This website went live in January 2007 and we are now delighted to announce that the full range of Tessie items will be available to order. Further details on ordering and payment are on the "payment page". If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me at tessiecards @ googlemail.com.(this is not a link, remove the spaces.)

Tess

Tessie

Tess was the inspiration between the entire Tessie range. We rescued her in 1999 from Tia Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue, she was eight months old and a nervous wreck. Missing a toe and terrified of men, Tess behaved more like a veteran than a puppy, but as the months went by she became more confident and we formed a very special bond. She could pull the most hilarious expressions, you could tell exactly what she was thinking and she gave me the idea for the dog in my cards. It seemed only right that the products I sell should be known as Tessie. Sadly in September 2006, Tess passed away suddenly after a viral infection. She is very much missed and always in my heart. Run free Tess.

The rest of the gang

Kira the Greyhound

Kira: Kira is a beautiful fawn greyhound, also rescued from Tia. She is coming up to nine years old now but is still as happy as ever. Kira is gorgeous, and she knows it, she has entered numerous fun dog shows with a lot of success; she's a bit of a show off! Kira is now at Rainbow Bridge following a short illness in 2008.

Whisky

Whisky: Not a sighthound, but a border-lakeland terrier. This seven year old has trouble written all over him, but he is loveable even though he likes to think that he's rather tough! I run Whisky in agility for fun, I don't compete, but he is fast and enjoys himself!

Our Lurcher Poppy

Poppy: Poppy is a brindle lurcher, just coming up to nine years old. She is my twenty year old daughter's dog and a very clever girl. She competed at flyball and agility and qualified for Crufts 2007. She is a crazy dog, but loveable and great around the house. Pops is now retired from flyball and agility but still loves being boss of the house.

Our Crossbreed Jet

Jet: Jet is a border collie x golden retriever, now 4 years old. Also my daughter's dog, she competes in agility and flyball; she has also qualified for crufts 2007. Jet is the most affectionate dog you could care to meet and is an absolute joy to have around. Jet defines the term crazy, and is very successful in both agility and flyball. She works grade 3 agility and has her Silver flyball award.

Our Lurcher Chip

Chip: Chip is our newest addition! He is three years old and arrived with us in November 2006. Reliable sources have told us he is a whippet x collie x bedlington; he has gorgeous red tri markings with grey flecks. Answers on a postcard! I train Chip in flyball and agility, he has been competing in flyball for just over a year and has his 1000points award.
